Day 1: Welcome to Kenya!

On arrival at Jomo Kenyatta international airport, your driver/guide will be waiting to pick you up from your flight.

You will spend your first night in Karen Country Resort, located outside of the busy town center of Nairobi. It is close to several tourist attractions like Nairobi National Park, Giraffe Centre, Elephant Orphanage, Karen Blixen Museum and the Bomas of Kenya. Depending on your time of arrival you can visit these sites at your own cost.

Day 2: Lake Nakuru National park.

After an early breakfast, you head to the first national park of your trip! Lake Nakuru national park. On your way, you will have a stopover at Thomson Falls and the Rift valley viewpoint from where you can take beautiful landscape pictures.

On the floor of the Great Rift Valley, surrounded by wooded and bushy grassland, lies the beautiful Lake Nakuru National Park. You will enjoy the ecological diversity and varied habitats that range from Lake Nakuru itself to the surrounding escarpment and picturesque ridges. Lake Nakuru National Park is ideal for game drives, bird watching, and hiking.

You will do a game drive in the park on arrival. The luxury Sarova Lion Hill game lodge your accommodation for the night.

Day 3: To the Masai Mara.

After an early breakfast, you will head to the world-famous Masai Mara game reserve on the border with Tanzania. An excellent year-round animal concentration and known for its typical short savanna plains. Home to the great migration in the months July – October when two million Wildebeest make their way northwards from the Serengeti in Tanzania.

On arrival at the gate, you will have a long en-route game drive towards the tented camp where you will spend the coming two nights. After a nice lunch, you will continue with an afternoon game drive to spot lions, buffaloes, antelopes and hippos and crocodiles in the Mara River.

The coming three nights you will sleep at Mara Ngenche Safari camp. Mara Ngenche Safari Camp is unfenced and is designed to allow the exciting movement of animals through the grounds offering an elegant yet relaxed atmosphere for experiencing the full adventure of the African bush. In addition, each tent has its own private plunge pool.

Day 4: To Lake Naivasha, Boat safari.

An en-route game drive will take you to the gate of Masai Mara. You will arrive at Lake Naivasha for a late lunch.

Lake Naivasha is home to a wide variety of wildlife including a sizeable population of hippos which usually invade our property during their nightly forays for food. Being a freshwater lake, it also has a healthy fish population to include Black bass, Tilapia, and Crayfish which attract a variety of fish-eating birds such as Long-tailed and Great Cormorants, along with Fish Eagles, Pelicans, and various types of Kingfishers. In the afternoon you will do a boat safari on the lake to see the birds and hippos.

Tonight you will spend the night at Enashipai Resort & Spa. Offering views of Lake Naivasha, Enashipai Resort & Spa is situated in Naivasha. It features an outdoor swimming pool and free Wi-Fi access.

Day 5: Bye Kenya and Welcome to Tanzania!

In the early morning, our driver guide will pick you from your place of accommodation after your breakfast and drop you off at Kenyatta international airport for your flight to Tanzania.

(B) WELCOME TO TANZANIA.

you will do a game drive on your way out of Amboseli N.P. Then it is time to say goodbye to Kenya and go to Tanzania!

On the other side of Namanga border your Tanzanian guide will be waiting to transfer you to Ilboru Safari Lodge; a pleasant lodge with a beautiful garden and swimming pool.

Harmoniously woven into the surrounding African landscape, Ilboru Safari Lodge rests at the base of the majestic Mt. Meru.

Depending on your time of arrival you can do an optional activity organized by the lodge.

Day 6: Lake Manyara N.P.

Today, after an early breakfast, you will be traveling to the first national park of this trip: Lake Manyara National Park.

On arrival, you will stretch your legs during a 2 to 3-hour village walk in cozy ‘Mto Wa Mbu’. Here you will meet the local community, taste homemade banana beer, learn about the Makonde woodcarvings and listen to your guide who will tell you everything about the way of living in this village.

After the village walk, you will have a local lunch. Together with the highly respected Miss Bibi, you prepare a delicious Swahili meal.

In the afternoon you enter Lake Manyara, National Park. This is a small but very beautiful park offering breathtaking views, excellent game viewing and an incredible array of birdlife. You have a chance to spot zebra, baboon, warthog, giraffe, impala, elephant, hippo, wildebeest and the rare tree climbing lion.

Your accommodation for tonight is Manyara Wildlife Safari Camp. Take a refreshing dip in the inviting outdoor pool and enjoy the fantastic sunset with a cold drink on the veranda!

Day 7: Tarangire National Park

Today, after an early breakfast, you will be traveling to the first national park of this trip; Tarangire National Park. The game drive can begin!

Tarangire is best known for its many gigantic baobab trees and its large herds of elephants; it is a home to approximately 2,500 individuals and large herds are regularly viewed. You can also spot many different animals like leopard, zebra, impala, warthog, eland, buffalo, waterbuck and lion. Also, the birders will have so much to see; more than 500 different bird-species are present.

This park hosts the biggest concentration of wildlife outside the Serengeti. It is also the only place in Tanzania where the oryx and gerenuk are regularly spotted.

Your driver/guide will have a lunch-box for you so you can picnic at a beautiful spot in the park after which your safari continues. At the end of the safari, you head for Sangaiwe Tented Lodge where you will spend the night.

Day 8: The Serengeti

After breakfast, you depart for the most famous safari park in the world: Serengeti National Park.

The Serengeti hosts the most extensive population of wild animals on earth and has a complex and untouched ecosystem. Serengeti means “endless plains” in the language of the Maasai, a description that the Serengeti completely lives up to. These endless plains have to be experienced to be fully appreciated!

You visit the heart of the Serengeti, Seronera Valley. This valley might be termed as the ‘classic’ Serengeti; short grass plains with all different kind of wild animals ranging from the impressive lion to the naughty mongoose. From the park entrance, you game drive towards your accommodation for tonight.

After the incredible impressions of the Serengeti, you’ll have your overnight at Tortilis Camp where each safari-tent has an en-suite bathroom, modern furnishings, and a private verandah.

Tonight you can share your Serengeti experiences around the campfire!

Day 9: Game drives in Serengeti National Park

Early in the morning, you leave the camp for a full day safari! Most of the national park is open and grassy. Ultimately, the success of any safari lies in the number and quality of encounters with big cats. There are thousands of lions in the Serengeti and you have a fair chance to see cheetahs, although they are difficult to spot. And when it comes to leopards, the Serengeti rarely disappoints!

We will find you a nice picnic spot to enjoy your packed lunch and then you slowly continue your safari back to Tortilis Camp.

Keep your eyes open since you still have chances to see all kinds of animals roaming the plains, hidden behind bushes or resting in a tree. You never know when and where exactly you will spot wildlife.

Back at the lodge, you will have an excellent dinner and some time to relax.

Day 10: Game drives in Serengeti National Park and the Ngorongoro Crater

Today you enjoy a long game drive on your way out of the beautiful Serengeti and continue to the Ngorongoro Conservation Area.

In the afternoon, you will have a game drive in the Ngorongoro Crater!

As a UNESCO World Heritage Site, the crater offers a unique biosphere which has remained virtually unchanged since the dawn of time. There are very few places in the world where you can find such a large population of wildlife throughout the year.

Deep within the crater, enclosed by towering walls, you have a good chance of spotting ‘The Big 5’: Lion, elephant, buffalo, rhino, and leopard. For the latter two, you need a bit of luck as they tend to shy away. Approximately 30 000 animals live on the crater floor!

After this great experience, we will drive you back to your place of accommodation for dinner and overnight.

Day 11A: Bye Tanzania.

Depending on the time of your flight, you may choose to stay at the hotel and rest till the time off for your flight, and our driver guide will drop you off the airport one and half hours before your flight to Uganda.

Day 11B. ARRIVAL IN ENTEBBE.

You I’ll be welcomed at the airport in Entebbe and transferred to your hotel in Kampala. Overnight at Hotel Olympia.

Day 12. TRANSFER TO THE RWENZORI REGION.

After breakfast we leave the bustling capital city and drive towards the peaceful, calm town of Fort Portal ( 4hours drive). Check in at your accommodation with the splendid view at Mountains of the Moon hotel. Here you I’ll enjoy lunch before u visit Toro Botanical Gardens, at a walking distance of your guesthouse. Enjoy a guided walk through the garden full of colourful flowers and medicinal plants while you look for the rich bird life. Later the afternoon return for dinner and overnight at Mountains of the Moon Hotel.

Day 13.  CRATER LAKE EXPEDITION.

A full day to enjoy the natural beauty of the crater lakes area. Explore the numerous clear lakes, surrounded by gentle hills, and hike to the Top of the World. Enjoy the breathtaking view at the green surroundings, the majestic mountains and even the wide Savannah plains of Queen Elizabeth National Park. Walk to the hidden Mahomah Falls while you experience the daily life from firsthand. Take time to meet the inhabitants as you pass their small villages and learn about the local crops that are cultivated here. Dinner and overnight at Mountains of the Moon hotel.

Day 14. FOOTHILLS OF THE RWENZORI. 

Today you I’ll be able to enjoy the beauty of the mountains of the moon in ts full glory. Enjoy a guided nature walk at the foothills and learn about the local culture firsthand. Enjoy the scenic views, have a glimpse of the village life and visit a traditional witchdoctor at his home. We I’ll make a stop at the Amabere Caves. Discover the small hidden waterfall as we enter the cave and admire the stalagmites, stalactites and pillars. Adventurous hikers can even hike over the Rwenzori mountains to Bundibugyo but this requests a good physical condition. Aculture evening is awaiting you after this Impressive day with traditional dances and songs. Dinner and overnight at Mountains of the Moon hotel.

Day 15. TROPICAL RAINFOREST AND SWAMPS.

We I’ll leave fort portal and head to kibale forest. Stop at the charming village Bigodi for a traditional meal at a local house. In the afternoon enjoy the Bigodi swamp walk. This is an initiative of the local community and supports the local community projects. The swamp is often referred to as the “Home of the Great – Blue – Turacos” and is known for ts rich diversity of birds and primates.  In the evening turn to your accommodation

You can either choose a home stay at a local family or spend the night in the comforts of the African jungle at Primate Lodge Kibale.

Day 16.  CHIMP TRACKING.

The forest opens ts doors for a sensational chimp tracking. Kibale forest is reputable of having the greatest variety and concentration of primates in East Africa. Enjoy a guided walk in the tropical rainforest in search of the wild chimpanzees, red tailed monkeys and many others. After a hearty picnic lunch we transfer to Bigodi swamp for another totally different walk. Dinner and overnight at Primate lodge Kibale.

Day 17. RETURN TO KAMPALA. 

In the morning we say goodbye to one of the most beautiful regions in Uganda. We start our journey back to kampala. With packed lunch. After arrival at your accommodation in the capital city, spend the afternoon relaxing and reflecting your unforgettable experiences.

Day 18. DEPARTURE.

We I’ll transfer you to the airport for your flight back home. We are looking forward to seeing you again!
