Day 1: Welcome to Uganda
Depending on your arrival time, there are some activities to do in Entebbe. Entebbe has beautiful places like Ngamba chimp sanctuary in the Lake Victoria, Uganda Wildlife Education Center former zoo (UWEC). And Kampala has historical and tourist sites like Uganda martyrs shrines, Independence monument, Rubaga Cathedral, Namirembe cathedral, Kasubi royal tombs, Wamala royal tombs, Gaddafi mosque, Bahai temple and visiting the Owino market.
And later get back to your place of accommodation.
Day 2: Kibale forest and Fort Portal Voyage.
Today we are going to storm the coolest and the cultural land of a peaceful community, which has got multiple breathtaking sceneries, pure green tea plantations, and wildlife attractions.
It is going to be a long journey which may take around 4-5 hours, and make a stop around the town and interact with the locals, visiting the Toro palace and the local markets around. Then proceed to Kibale forest camp where you spend your night which is also in Kibale National Park which is about an hour drive. You will rest under the wildness breeze of Kibale National park viewing wildlife closer and from a distance.
Day 3: Queen Elizabeth National Park.
Early morning after breakfast, we drive off for a 2-hour drive to the home of Uganda’s wildlife Queen Elizabeth National Park which is the second largest national park in Uganda after Murchison falls national park.
Check in your place of accommodation and later visit Queen Elizabeth National Park situated next to the mighty Rwenzori Mountain range, adjoining with Lake George and Lake Edward. The park has got a very productive game with a wide range of wildlife like Uganda kob, waterbuck, buffalos, warthogs, gazelle, lions, elephants, leopards, hippos among others.
After lunch, you will go an evening game drive in the park where you will spot wide numbers of wildlife grazing in the savanna plains other resting and some moving to look for water. Overseeing the park, you will get perfect views of Lake George and across there is Mount Rwenzori.
Day 4: Early morning game drive and boat cruise on Kazinga channel.
Today you wake up early. A little before sunrise coffee, tea and donuts will be served in the lounge before we head out for a long game drive in time to see the first rays of light. You will search for all the wildlife in the park and are likely to come across Elephant, Buffalo, Lion, Waterbuck, Leopard, Uganda Kob, and many Warthogs.
A well-deserved brunch will be served back at your place of accommodation in the late morning.
In the afternoon you will take a boat safari along the Kazinga Channel which joins Lake George and Lake Albert.
Day 5: Tree climbing lions and chimp tracking.
Today very early morning in the morning we will be visiting Kyambura gorge for hiking and chimp habituation tracking. The chimp tracking activity includes other primates like the baboon, varvet, black and white colobus monkeys and red-tailed monkeys. Though chances of spotting chimpanzees are 50% the trip to this place is worth it quite a number of other wildlife and birdlife.
Later after chimp tracking experience, we will head to Ishahsa a home to the famous tree-climbing lions. While lion cubs around the world frequently climb trees for fun, adults rarely do. The adult lions in Ishasha are an exception to this. It is thought that they sit in the branches to get away from the tsetse flies and to enjoy a cool breeze. If you are lucky you might spot a few during your game drive.Here, you will see a lot of hippos (more than you can possibly imagine!), as well as a variety of other animals which come to the waterhole to drink or bathe. You can expect to see buffalo, crocodile, bathing elephant, and a range of beautiful birds. This will undoubtedly be one of the highlights of your tour.
After the boat-safari, and game drives, then you will head back to your place of accommodation.
Day 6: Goodbye Uganda.
After breakfast, our driver guide will drive you back to Kampala which is about 3-4hour drive. You may want to buy a few things to go with from our markets in Kampala or even have your last meal in Uganda before you leave the country. Then you will proceed to Entebbe international airport to catch your flight.
Day 7: TRANSFER TO THE RWENZORI REGION.
After breakfast we leave the bustling capital city and drive towards the peaceful, calm town of Fort Portal ( 4hours drive). Check in at your accommodation with the splendid view at Mountains of the Moon hotel. Here you I’ll enjoy lunch before u visit Toro Botanical Gardens, at a walking distance of your guesthouse. Enjoy a guided walk through the garden full of colourful flowers and medicinal plants while you look for the rich bird life. Later the afternoon return for dinner and overnight at Mountains of the Moon Hotel.
Day 8: CRATER LAKE EXPEDITION.
A full day to enjoy the natural beauty of the crater lakes area. Explore the numerous clear lakes, surrounded by gentle hills, and hike to the Top of the World. Enjoy the breathtaking view at the green surroundings, the majestic mountains and even the wide Savannah plains of Queen Elizabeth National Park. Walk to the hidden Mahomah Falls while you experience the daily life from firsthand. Take time to meet the inhabitants as you pass their small villages and learn about the local crops that are cultivated here. Dinner and overnight at Mountains of the Moon hotel.
Day 9: FOOTHILLS OF THE RWENZORI.
Today you I’ll be able to enjoy the beauty of the mountains of the moon in ts full glory. Enjoy a guided nature walk at the foothills and learn about the local culture firsthand. Enjoy the scenic views, have a glimpse of the village life and visit a traditional witchdoctor at his home. We I’ll make a stop at the Amabere Caves. Discover the small hidden waterfall as we enter the cave and admire the stalagmites, stalactites and pillars. Adventurous hikers can even hike over the Rwenzori mountains to Bundibugyo but this requests a good physical condition. Aculture evening is awaiting you after this Impressive day with traditional dances and songs. Dinner and overnight at Mountains of the Moon hotel.
Day 10: TROPICAL RAINFOREST AND SWAMPS.
We I’ll leave fort portal and head to kibale forest. Stop at the charming village Bigodi for a traditional meal at a local house. In the afternoon enjoy the Bigodi swamp walk. This is an initiative of the local community and supports the local community projects. The swamp is often referred to as the “Home of the Great – Blue – Turacos” and is known for ts rich diversity of birds and primates. In the evening turn to your accommodation
You can either choose a home stay at a local family or spend the night in the comforts of the African jungle at Primate Lodge Kibale.
Day 11: CHIMP TRACKING.
The forest opens ts doors for a sensational chimp tracking. Kibale forest is reputable of having the greatest variety and concentration of primates in East Africa. Enjoy a guided walk in the tropical rainforest in search of the wild chimpanzees, red tailed monkeys and many others. After a hearty picnic lunch we transfer to Bigodi swamp for another totally different walk. Dinner and overnight at Primate lodge Kibale.
Day 12: RETURN TO KAMPALA.
In the morning we say goodbye to one of the most beautiful regions in Uganda. We start our journey back to kampala. With packed lunch. After arrival at your accommodation in the capital city, spend the afternoon relaxing and reflecting your unforgettable experiences.
Day 13: DEPARTURE.
We I’ll transfer you to the airport for your flight back home. We are looking forward to seeing you again!
