Tour Description

In our 6 days’ safari we will visit the habituated chimps of Ngamba Island in Lake Victoria and later head to the most amazing game viewing national park in East Africa the mighty Queen Elizabeth national park. We will visit the home of half of the world’s population of gorillas Bwindi impenetrable national park and we end up our trip back in Kampala and then back to the airport.

Day 1: Ngamba island chimp tour.

Our driver/guide will pick you from our designated meeting point in Kampala or Entebbe and drive to Entebbe town about 23 miles (37 km) from Kampala the capital city of Uganda. And later board off in a boat to Ngamba You’ll meet your boat on the shores of Lake Victoria in Entebbe to take you out to Ngamba Island before a briefing on the Chimpanzee conservation efforts in Uganda. You’ll then be taken to the viewing platform to see the chimpanzee’s feeding. Watch the rehabilitated chimps feed, groom, and socialize. In the mid-afternoon, you’ll cross back over Lake Victoria to Entebbe. When taking this trip you also support Chimp Trust, which is working to protect the forest habitat of the chimpanzees and caring for those unable to return to the wild. Later on in the evening, we return to Kampala where you spend your night & dinner at Hillside plaza hotel Kampala or Eureka hotel.

Day 2: Queen Elizabeth national park

You are picked up from your accommodation by our company safari guide who then drives you to Queen Elizabeth National Park with a lunch stop over en route. This park is known to have more mammals than any other park in Uganda. The game here include both forest and savannah species for instance; Lion; Elephant, Buffaloes, Hippopotamus, Kobs, Warthog, a variety of primates like; Chimpanzee, olive baboon, red-tailed and vervet monkeys, predators like; Leopards, Lions, spotted Hyena and side-striped Jackal. This park is also a birders paradise with over 611 recorded species. Lunch at Mbarara, then proceed to the park for an afternoon game drive. Dinner and overnight at Mweya Safari Lodge/Jacana Safari Lodge/Hippo Hill Camp/The Institute of Ecology.

Day 3: Queen Elizabeth National Park

After early breakfast, drive to the Kasenyi track via the Crater Lakes region with still dark lakes and rich grasslands set deep into volcanic craters to get to the kob mating ground, this provides an excellent opportunity for viewing the lions. Afternoon, take a launch cruise on Kazinga Channel for yet more game viewing and birds. Later return to our accommodation for dinner and overnight.

Day 4. Queen Elizabeth/bwindi

After breakfast drive to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park. Here you will choose either to go via Maramagambo Forest for a nature walk and visit the bat caves where you may observe thousands of bats within inches of their roost and often pythons and monitor lizards poised to strike by the cave entrance or to go to Ishasha for a game drive in search for tree climbing lions. Afternoon, drive to Bwindi, have Dinner and Overnight Gorilla Forest Camp/Buhoma homestead/Kitandara Camp.

Days 5. bwindi (gorilla trekking)

After an early breakfast we take a short walk to the park offices for a briefing, After a briefing from the park’s guides, we set out on our long-anticipated adventure. The trail through the tropical rainforest is both challenging and exciting, and we will travel deep into this dense jungle, described by early explorers as “The Impenetrable ForestSpotted After gorilla tracking, we then drive to Lake Mburo National Park through the renowned Kigezi hills arguably known as the Switzerland of Uganda. Overnight Mihingo Lodge/Mantana Camp.

Day 6. Return to Entebbe/Departure

After breakfast, take a game drive to the acacia savannah. The game likely to be encountered include the Burshell’s Zebra, Topi, Impala, buffalo’s, and the beautiful Eland. After lunch at the camp, drive to Entebbe Airport for your International flight connections.
